Proudly South African is a campaign that encourages the nation to buy locally produced goods. It is aimed at persuading local firms to procure goods and services locally, in an effort to stimulate the economy and create jobs. But the campaign goes beyond just material elements.
Finding My Voice postulates, “It means living in a country with a vibrant civil society, a constitution hailed the most progressive in the world and people who have the courage to stand up against injustice, committed to investing their time and energy into campaigns and causes, because they care- and because they can”.
SANtv found out from the campaign CEO Advocate Leslie Sedibe that Proudly South African goes beyond biltong and boerewors, fynbos or Table Mountain, which are some of our national symbols, this project, he says, is about promoting national pride, patriotism and social cohesion.
